Job description
PACCAR Electronics is seeking a motivated and technically curious Software Integration Test Engineer to join our Autonomous Vehicle Program in Kirkland, WA. In this role, you will be instrumental in validating and integrating embedded software for next-generation electronic control units (ECUs) that power advanced commercial vehicle systems. You will collaborate closely with software developers, systems engineers, and test teams to ensure high-quality, reliable, and scalable software solutions., + Develop and integrate embedded software for next-generation ECUs using MATLAB/Simulink, based on established software architectures and design specifications.

Create, maintain, and execute integration-level test cases aligned to software and system requirements.

Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects; verify fixes and ensure readiness for Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and system-level testing.

Perform final software integration validation prior to broader system testing activities.

Design, implement, and maintain test automation frameworks, test harnesses, and reusable libraries to improve efficiency and coverage across multiple projects.

Develop automated test tools-including scripts, simulators, utilities, and datasets-to enable scalable and repeatable testing.

Execute automated test suites, analyze results, and clearly document findings to support defect resolution and continuous quality improvement.

Continuously assess test effectiveness by analyzing quality metrics throughout the SDLC/STLC, and proactively recommend process and tooling improvements.

Contribute to the development and refinement of test procedures, best practices, and quality standards to improve software reliability and consistency across PACCAR Electronics.
Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

1+ year of experience in software testing or software quality engineering.

Strong interest in learning and applying modern software quality methodologies, tools, and engineering processes.

Ability to analyze, interpret, and validate software requirements and design specifications.

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to debug complex software issues.

Effective communicator and collaborative team player in a cross-functional engineering environment.

Proficiency with standard PC and productivity tools (e.g., project management applications, documentation tools, modeling/diagramming tools, spreadsheets, and databases).

Growth-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a results-driven engineering environment.

Willingness and ability to travel up to 10%, including occasional international travel.
Preferred

Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages used for test automation.

Experience in the automotive, commercial vehicle, robotics, or safety-critical embedded systems domains.

Hands-on experience with embedded software development or testing using C++, MATLAB/Simulink, Kanzi, or IBM Rational Rhapsody.

The salary range for this role is $ 77,700.00-$ 116,200.00 annually. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift.
