Job description

  • Analyze incoming customer data and develop a plan to cleanse, standardize, and import it into mail processing systems accurately and on time
  • Build and maintain ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) or equivalent modern tools to automate data movement, cleansing, and standardization
  • Write and optimize SQL code including stored procedures, views, and ad-hoc queries to support data processing and validation
  • Take full ownership of assigned data processing workflows - from initial analysis through delivery - ensuring quality and timeliness at every step
  • Follow established checklists and SOPs, and proactively identify opportunities to update or improve them as processes evolve
  • Participate in process improvement discussions and contribute practical suggestions for more efficient data flows and workflows
  • Work closely with developers, analysts, and project leads to map customer data requirements to internal systems and product specs, including supporting omni-channel journey integrations across print, digital, and other channels
  • Document automation processes clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Work alongside other Database Programmers / Analysts to maintain consistent, repeatable processes across accounts

Requirements

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Database Programmer / Analyst to implement and manage customer direct mail campaigns. This role goes beyond writing code - we're looking for someone who takes ownership of their processes, problem-solves independently, and actively contributes to improving how we work. You'll play a key role in processing direct mail data, supporting omni-channel customer journeys, and contributing to making our processes better every day. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, love clean data, and take pride in getting things right, we want to hear from you., * Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent hands-on experience

  • 4-6 years of experience in database development and data processing
  • Strong Microsoft SQL Server experience including stored procedures, ad-hoc querying, and data validation
  • Experience with a modern ETL/data integration tool - Azure Data Factory (ADF) strongly preferred; equivalent tools such as Talend, Informatica, or Matillion considered
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve independently and see tasks through to completion without heavy supervision
  • Comfort working with checklists, SOPs, and structured processes - and the initiative to flag when they need updating
  • Strong communication skills - able to translate technical concepts for non-technical clients and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to gather requirements, ask the right questions, and make sound decisions about data processing approaches

What We'd Love to See

  • Experience with Azure ecosystem tools beyond ADF (e.g., Azure SQL, Azure Blob Storage, Azure DevOps)
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology and iterative project workflows
  • Experience with version control and issue tracking tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira
  • Background in direct mail, print, or marketing data processing
  • Experience with omni-channel or cross-channel marketing platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Campaign, or similar
  • A track record of contributing to process improvement initiatives, not just executing them

Benefits & conditions

  • Customer data is processed accurately and delivered on time, every time
  • Checklists and documentation are kept current and reflect how work is actually done
  • You're not just waiting to be told what to do - you're anticipating issues, raising concerns early, and suggesting better ways to work
  • Your teammates can count on your processes being consistent, documented, and repeatable
