Job description
CoreWeave is seeking a Director of Engineering, Security Products to lead the engineering teams building our identity, authorization, and encryption platforms. In this highly technical and strategic role, you will define and execute the roadmap for security products that underpin customer trust and enable regulated AI workloads at scale. You will lead an engineering team working with Product and Security to design and operate services that are reliable, auditable, and easy for customers to adopt. You will grow and mentor engineering leaders and ICs, and set the standard for engineering excellence in a fast-moving, high-stakes domain.
In this role, you will:
- Define and drive the engineering roadmap for CoreWeave security products (e.g., IAM, authorization, encryption lifecycle management, workload identity, and related platform capabilities).
- Lead and grow high-performing engineering teams, including managers and senior ICs, responsible for building and operating security-critical services.
- Own the availability, reliability, and performance of security product services in production, including SLIs/SLOs, incident management, and on-call practices.
- Partner closely with Product Management and Information Security to translate customer, compliance, and GRC requirements into clear technical designs and delivery plans.
- Oversee the architecture and implementation of secure, scalable, and auditable systems that integrate with customer identity providers, key management systems, and security tooling.
- Collaborate with customer-facing teams (Sales, Solutions, Customer Experience) to support complex enterprise deployments and unblock high-impact opportunities.
- Establish and continuously improve engineering processes, quality bars, and operational best practices for security products in a rapidly growing environment.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software or infrastructure engineering building and operating production services.
- 5+ years of engineering leadership experience, including directly managing other managers and scaling multi-team organizations.
- Proven track record of delivering security, identity, or encryption-related products (e.g., IAM, SSO, KMS, HSM, workload identity, security platforms) at a cloud provider, security company, or large-scale SaaS.
- Experience designing and operating distributed systems with high availability, strong correctness requirements, and clear operational ownership.
- Strong understanding of enterprise security concepts such as authentication, authorization, least privilege, encryption at rest and in transit, and audit logging.
- Familiarity with common compliance and security frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP, HIPAA) and how they translate into product and architectural requirements.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with Product Management and Security/Compliance teams to prioritize trade-offs and ship customer-facing platform capabilities.
- Experience building and mentoring diverse, inclusive, and high-performing engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
Wondering if you're a good fit? We believe in investing in our people, and value candidates who can bring their own diversified experiences to our teams - even if you aren't a 100% skill or experience match.
Here are a few qualities we've found compatible with our team. If some of this describes you, we'd love to talk:
- You're excited about building security and identity platforms that make it easier-not harder-for customers to adopt secure-by-default AI workloads.
- You enjoy working at the intersection of Product, Security, and Infrastructure, turning complex requirements into simple, reliable services.
- You're comfortable leading through ambiguity and change, and you can balance long-term platform investments with near-term customer and compliance needs.
- You have a strong owner's mindset, and you care deeply about operational excellence, from design reviews to incident response.
