Job description

We are seeking an experienced Workday Finance System Administrator to own the configuration, administration, and continuous improvement of our Workday Financial Management environment. This role sits at the intersection of finance operations and technology, serving as the primary subject matter expert for Workday Financials - with a specific focus on Accounting Center and related integration workflows. The ideal candidate brings both hands-on Workday configuration experience and a foundational understanding of accounting principles., * Administer and configure Workday Financial modules, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Expenses, Banking & Settlement, and Procurement

  • Lead the implementation, configuration, and ongoing optimization of Workday Accounting Center, including data transformation rules, source system integrations, and journal entry automation
  • Partner with Accounting, FP&A, and IT teams to gather business requirements and translate them into system configurations
  • Manage Workday business process frameworks, security roles, and domain policies related to Finance
  • Build and maintain custom and composite reports, dashboards, and calculated fields to support financial reporting needs
  • Support period-end close activities, including validation of journal entries, reconciliation workflows, and financial data accuracy
  • Troubleshoot system issues, manage Workday case submissions, and coordinate with Workday support as needed
  • Evaluate Workday release notes biannually and assess impact to the Finance environment; lead regression testing and deployment
  • Maintain system documentation, process flows, and training materials for end users
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes through automation and system enhancements

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or related/ relevant field
  • 4-7+ years of hands-on Workday Financials administration experience
  • Demonstrated experience with Workday Accounting Center (configuration, data source setup, transformation rules, and journal entry creation)
  • Proficiency across core Workday FIN modules: GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Expenses
  • Understanding of accounting concepts (debits/credits, journal entries, period close processes)
  • Experience with Workday reporting tools (Advanced Reports, Composite Reports, BIRT)
  • Workday Pro Certification in Financials (required or expected within 6 months of hire)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate technical concepts to finance stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Workday Adaptive Planning or Prism Analytics
  • Familiarity with EIBs (Enterprise Interface Builder) and Workday Studio integrations
  • Background in accounting, finance, or a related field (degree or equivalent experience)
  • Prior experience supporting Workday in a remote or distributed team environment

  • This is a hybrid role based out of our Atlanta, GA Home Office. Candidate is expected to be in-person a minimum of 3 to 4 days per week.

Work Environment: This role is based at our corporate headquarters in Atlanta, GA (Buckhead/Midtown area). Opportunity for hybrid office and home-based working arrangements once onboarded, with 3 to 4 in-office days required.
