Job description
The Vice President (VP) of Enterprise Applications is a key member of the Information Technology (IT) executive leadership team, reporting to the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO). This role is responsible for setting and executing the strategic direction, operational execution, and financial accountability for the enterprise application portfolio across Health Henry Ford Health, Health Alliance Plan and Populance.
In partnership with IT and operational leaders, the VP will optimize technology systems to drive innovation, improve system usability, create value, enhance clinical and operational workflows, and ultimately support the delivery of exceptional patient care and system performance. The VP will lead a team of IT professionals and directly oversee AVPs across various functional domains, ensuring excellence in application lifecycle management, implementation of enterprise-wide solutions, and realization of return on technology investments.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in IT, application support, systems administration, operations, programming, or project management, with at least 8 years in the healthcare industry.
- At least 10+ years of management and senior leadership experience, preferably within complex, multi-entity healthcare or academic organizations.
- Recent leadership as a lead information systems executive in healthcare or a similar industry.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in complex, matrixed environments.
- Experience with ERP deployments preferred.
- Experience with Epic systems preferred. Comprehensive understanding of security and privacy demands in patient care environments is strongly preferred.
- Deep knowledge of healthcare and payor business functions and the ability to effectively engage with executives, physicians, clinicians, governance members, and other senior leaders.
- Strong financial and business acumen, including expertise in budget management, financial planning, contract negotiation, and vendor management. Outstanding negotiation abilities, interpersonal relationship building, and high-level problem-solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written skills.
- Demonstrated capabilities in strategic and operational planning, as well as organizational development and leadership.
- Proven ability to work and lead effectively within matrixed organizational structure resulting in strong employee engagement.
- Demonstrated workforce management expertise, utilizing workforce management tools, processes, and change management strategies.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's Degree required in Business, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Healthcare Administration, Management Engineering, or a related field. Master's Degree preferred.
