Job description

As SmartBanks Data Analyst you will be held accountable for providing data analytics to the SmartBank ecosystem utilizing a no code/low code approach. The data reported will maintain a high level of integrity and accuracy. This will include preparing and distributing various reports as well as gathering requirements for new reporting needs from relevant interested parties. This will be done by developing the data architecture for the bank, identifying data locations, and ensuring appropriate controls are in place to ensure data integrity. The Data Analyst will report to the Enterprise Applications Manager and will be expected to provide seniority and leadership to the growing Data Analytics practice inside the Enterprise Applications functional group., * Upholds SmartBank Core Values and Core Purpose.

  • Build strong and effective relationships with internal and external business partners.
  • Analyze the current data architecture of SmartBank.
  • Must be able to recommend solutions and methods to modernize SmartBank's data architecture.
  • Lead projects delivering reporting and analytical solutions to internal customers.
  • Complete data discovery projects - identify all data, obtain/build data dictionaries, identify key indicators to link data and assist with selection of data warehouse options.
  • Build necessary data pipelines to support a modern data architecture.
  • Build, maintain and improve new and existing ETL pipelines between Microsoft SQL Server databases, H360 (DB2), Cognos, Power BI, online data sources, and SaaS (DH1) applications
  • Create and maintain flow chart and internal control structure/process around data.
  • Work with business partners to drive the evolution of data analytics processes.
  • Plan, review, and/or support preparation of internal and external reports, reconciliations, tables, and schedules.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline, automate, and improve efficiencies to reduce costs.
  • Maintain general knowledge of bank products, processes, and procedures to ensure proper reporting and classification of system level data.
  • Maintain and develop database and other related tools to support data reporting and transform needs as assigned
  • Participate and adhere to change management and documentation required by IT policy
  • Design SQL database tables and structures along with creating views, functions and stored procedures; create database triggers for use in automation and maintain data quality for overseeing database security and performance (DH2)
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Assist with development and implementation of data governance program.
  • Complies with all applicable federal, state, and local banking and industry related laws and regulations including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft SQL (Views, Stored Procedures, Subqueries, Common Table Expressions, etc.) and Power BI
  • Hands-on experience using IBM Cognos Knowledge of Python and its related data transformation will be helpful
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (Power Query and Power Pivot)
  • Experience with Data Visualization (experience making the data tell a story), * 3-5 years' experience in related role
  • Bachelor's Degree (in lieu of a degree, more years of experience may be considered)
  • 3 years of banking experience is required
