Job description
The Network Engineer is responsible for supporting, designing, and maintaining network infrastructure in support of distributed simulation and training environments. This role provides technical expertise in troubleshooting, integration, and network architecture to ensure reliable and secure operations across federated systems and enterprise environments supporting JLLCTC and Next Generation Constructive capabilities., * Identify and rapidly troubleshoot issues across federate systems, both co-located and at remote sites.
- Diagnose and resolve issues within RTI infrastructure software, client system software, and networking environments.
- Design, implement, and maintain network architectures supporting distributed simulation environments.
- Provide technical recommendations to Government representatives regarding network requirements, solutions, and timelines.
- Support integration of systems across LAN/WAN environments, ensuring efficient and secure information flow.
- Configure and maintain network devices including switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Maintain and troubleshoot server platforms, ensuring system availability and performance.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity and operational requirements.

- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment., * Bachelor's degree in Network Management, Information Technology, or related field; OR 10 years of recent network engineering or related experience in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network architecture design and implementation.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience troubleshooting and maintaining server platforms and network devices, including firewall configuration.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Server platforms, network switching, and firewall configuration.
- Solid understanding of LAN/WAN, security principles, storage solutions, and backup methodologies.
- DoDD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ or equivalent with OS certification).
Security Requirement: Active SECRET Security Clearance.
