Application Development & Maintenance performs configuration or coding to develop, enhance and sustain the organization's software systems in a cross-functional team environment through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices. This job family programs and configures end user applications, systems, databases and websites to achieve the organization's internal needs and externally-facing business needs. Application Development & Maintenance partners with business leaders, investigates user needs and conducts regular assessments, maintenance and enhancements of existing applications.

The eCommerce Technical Lead, Application Development and Maintenance, will provide hands-on technical leadership for a globally distributed software development team consisting of technical leads and engineers. This role is responsible for the architecture, design, development, and ongoing maintenance of scalable, high-performance eCommerce platforms supporting a multi-year modernization roadmap. The ideal candidate demonstrates deep expertise in modern digital technologies, cloud-native architectures, and industry best practices, along with proven experience leading large onshore and offshore engineering teams. This position owns technical planning, backlog prioritization, and end-to-end execution within an agile delivery model, with a strong emphasis on code quality, system performance, security, reliability, and delivery efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and enhancement of core software & information platforms

  • Provide platform metrics & proactively identify patterns to improve platform stability

  • Ability to break down complex initiatives into small actionable work items

  • Troubleshoot complex platform and cloud issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive long-term stability and performance improvements.

  • Establish platform standards, best practices, and governance across cloud architectures, integrations, and application frameworks.

  • Collaborate with Application Development, Infrastructure, and Architecture teams to translate business requirements into robust platform designs and reusable components.

  • Mentor and guide engineers across teams by providing architectural insights, code reviews, knowledge sharing, and technical leadership.

Requirements

  • 8-12 years of software development, software engineering, technical architecture or related experience, preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in multiple programing languages like Java, React, REST/SOAP APIs and microservices architecture, preferred

  • Experience with modern responsive UI development, SQL and NoSQL Databases

  • Experience with HCL Commerce is a plus

  • Experience with different AI Models for development and Architecture is a plus

  • Experience with the agile methodology using tools like Jira and GitHub

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as Harness, Concourse, Jenkins is a plus

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem resolution skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills and desire to learn new technologies

Anticipated salary range: $123,400 - $176,300
