Job description
The Windows Systems Administrator will provide day-to-day administration, maintenance, and support of Microsoft Windows-based environments. This role focuses on system administration, vulnerability management, STIG implementation, and operational support across enterprise infrastructure., * Perform administration of Windows Server environments, including installation, configuration, patching, and maintenance
- Execute vulnerability management activities, including remediation of findings and compliance reporting
- Implement, maintain, and analyze DoD STIGs and security configurations
- Support Active Directory (AD), DNS, and DHCP services in an enterprise environment
- Assist with system deployments, upgrades, and configuration of COTS applications
- Troubleshoot system, network, and application issues; coordinate with Service Desk for incident resolution
- Provide application platform support for IIS, Apache, and Tomcat servers
- Monitor system performance and availability using enterprise monitoring tools (e.g., SCOM)
- Manage and update tickets using ServiceNow (SNOW), including triage, documentation, and resolution tracking
- Support virtualized environments using VMware vSphere
- Perform system backups, recovery operations, and performance tuning
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with DoD policies and RMF requirements
Requirements
- 2-4 years of experience in Windows Systems Administration
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows Server (2016/2019/2022)
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
- Experience with vulnerability management and remediation processes
- Familiarity with DoD STIGs and security hardening practices
- Experience troubleshooting system and application issues in an enterprise environment
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals and common protocols
Desired Skills
- Experience supporting IIS, Apache, and Tomcat application servers
- Experience with VMware vSphere administration
- Experience with Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) or similar monitoring tools
- Experience using ServiceNow (SNOW) or similar ITSM platforms
- Familiarity with patch management tools and automation (e.g., WSUS, SCCM/MECM)
- Understanding of RMF, compliance frameworks, and DoD security tools
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365 / Microsoft 365 administration
- Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services
- Experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) for identity and access management
- Familiarity with Azure Arc for hybrid cloud and server management
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Certification Requirements
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent)
Security Clearance
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance required, * VMWare: 2 years (Preferred)
- Microsoft Windows Server: 2 years (Required)
Security clearance:
- Top Secret (Required)
Ability to Relocate:
- Quantico, VA 22134: Relocate before starting work (Preferred)
