Brooksource is seeking a Network Engineer III to join a cross-functional Network Engineering and Operations team supporting enterprise network infrastructure in St. Louis, MO. In this hybrid role, you will collaborate with systems, security, and application teams while serving as a technical escalation point for network operations. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of complex LAN, WAN, and wireless networks, ensuring reliable connectivity and strong performance across a production environment. This position offers the opportunity to participate in infrastructure upgrades, troubleshoot advanced networking issues, and contribute to improvements in network architecture and operational stability. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience managing enterprise networks and thrives in a fast-paced environment where reliability and uptime are critical. WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Design, configure, and support enterprise network infrastructure across LAN, WAN, and wireless environments
- Troubleshoot complex network performance and connectivity issues across production systems
- Serve as a Tier 2/3 escalation point for network incidents and operational issues
- Participate in network upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure modernization initiatives
- Implement improvements to network performance, resiliency, and monitoring capabilities
- Maintain technical documentation including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to support stable network operations
Requirements
- 3-7+ years of network engineering experience in enterprise or large-scale environments
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals, routing, and switching
- Experience working with enterprise network hardware (Cisco, Juniper, or similar)
- Hands-on experience with routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, or EIGRP
- Proven ability to troubleshoot network connectivity and performance issues
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and ticketing systems
- Preferred: CCNP, CCNA, or other relevant networking certifications
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (infrastructure, security, application)
- Strong documentation skills for network diagrams, configurations, and procedures
