Job description

Kforce's client is seeking a Senior Go (Golang) Software Engineer to join a modern platform delivery team building scalable backend services for card and banking-related applications. This position will be fully remote within 70 miles of any of our hub locations: Allen, Birmginham, Cedar Falls, Charlotte, Kenexa, Louisville, Monett or Springfield. Candidates must reside within reasonable proximity to designated hub locations. Work hours are flexible by time zone, with a 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Central Time overlap preferred. Summmary: As a member of a platform delivery team, you will design, build, test, and maintain backend microservices using Go, working closely with product owners, DevOps engineers, and business partners. You will gain deep exposure to financial services domains and help ensure systems are reliable, scalable, and production-ready. This role sits within a highly collaborative engineering environment focused on technology modernization, cloud-native development, and distributed systems.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional software development experience
  • 1+ years of backend development experience using Go/Golang
  • Experience building and supporting backend services in a production environment
  • Ability to complete and pass a technical coding challenge
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional engineering and product teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to independently deliver work

Nice-to-Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience with microservices architectures and distributed systems
  • Experience developing cloud-hosted applications (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
  • Familiarity with event-driven systems and asynchronous processing
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container platforms
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, observability, and monitoring
  • Experience with databases such as Cloud Spanner or MongoDB Atlas
  • Interest or experience in AI, machine learning, or large language models (LLMs)
  • Strong sense of ownership from design through production support

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
