Job description

Praescient Analytics is a leader in delivering advanced analytic, data engineering, and technology integration solutions in support of the Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community, and federal law enforcement. Our mission is to empower analysts and decision-makers through data-driven insights, enabling faster and more effective mission outcomes., Praescient Analytics is seeking a Data Engineer to support U.S. Army programs focused on enterprise data management, analytics enablement, and operational intelligence. The ideal candidate will have experience designing, building, and optimizing data systems that support large-scale analytics environments within secure government networks.

You will be responsible for designing strategies for enterprise databases, data warehouses, and multidimensional data networks, as well as implementing high-performance data pipelines and integration workflows to transform structured and unstructured data into actionable insights., * Design and implement strategies for enterprise databases, data warehouse systems, and multidimensional networks.

  • Set and enforce standards for database operations, query processes, programming, and security.
  • Model, design, and construct large-scale relational databases and/or data warehouse solutions.
  • Create and optimize data models to support warehouse infrastructure, analytics workflows, and reporting.
  • Integrate new data systems with existing warehouse structures and refine system performance and functionality.
  • Configure and ingest structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data repositories to support analytic missions.
  • Develop and manage ETL pipelines for streaming and batch data processing, ingestion, wrangling, and transformation.
  • Design, implement, and maintain data delivery systems to enable analysis, visualization, and reporting.
  • Apply expertise in entity-relationship modeling, SQL development, distributed computing, and system integration.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and mission stakeholders to ensure data accessibility, quality, and reliability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in data engineering, database design, or data architecture.
  • Proficiency in SQL and database management (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server).
  • Experience with ETL tools and data pipeline frameworks (e.g., Apache NiFi, Airflow, Spark, Kafka).
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GovCloud), and data security principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data.
  • U.S. citizenship and active TS/SCI clearance is required, * Experience supporting U.S. Army or other DoD data engineering programs.
  • Familiarity with data visualization and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Grafana).
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or R for data transformation and automation.
  • Understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
