Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is hiring a Network Engineer to assist in delivering technical presentations to customer staff, assist with designing and the configuration of settings, as required for certain customer network systems in Springfield, Virginia supporting the DOD. They will be responsible for being directly involved in the hands-on implementation of customer network systems, and to meet with customers to capture specific requirements in concise format. This is a great role in the Virginia area, and this opportunity requires a Top Secret w SCI eligibility ., * Diagnose and resolve network outages and system failures.

  • Provide mentorship and training to Tier 1 and Tier 2 staff.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Networking teams, Microsoft leadership, and on-shift personnel.
  • Configure network devices via CLI, deploy patches, and optimize Layer 2/3 protocols.

Requirements

  • 5+ years demonstrated performance in network engineering technology, with a bachelor's degree or industry equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise with WAN/Internet transport and routing technologies, such as BGP, MPLS, and SD-WAN, to be able to assist product level experts in network operations and sustainment.
  • Expertise in working with & troubleshooting cloud network technologies such as ExpressRoute and Azure Virtual Networks.
  • Top Secret w/ SCI eligibility

Benefits & conditions

  • Salary range: $140,000 - $180,000 depending on experience
