Job description

The Clinical Business Systems Analyst serves the product organization as a liaison to business and technology stakeholders in the role of defining systems requirements, scope, and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of clinical business systems and industry requirements.

  • Collaborate with product management, development, and business customers (internal and external) to understand planned enhancements, systems modifications, or specifications for new systems. (*)
  • Conduct business process analyses, needs assessments, technology infrastructure evaluations, and/or preliminary cost/benefits analyses to align information technology solutions with product initiatives.
  • Collaborate with customers on requirements by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats.
  • Promote the integration of a consultative 'Voice-of-the-Customer' approach with the elicitation of functional requirements as well as with the review and feedback mechanisms for conceptual designs.
  • Analyze product management goals, business, and end-user needs, documenting requirements and making recommendations for system logic, enhancements, server capacity planning, or flow, as necessary.
  • Analyze and make recommendations for improvement to existing business processes and systems. (*)
  • Foster a culture of accountability by facilitating transparency, constructive dialogue, evidence decision making, sound product governance, objective prioritization, continuous process improvement, and superior and timely product delivery.
  • Analyze requirements, traceability, platforms, or cross platforms results of production and makes recommendations if techniques need to be redefined. Identifies training opportunities, determines risk areas, systems functionality, etc. and recommends necessary changes.
  • Promote the design and implementation of repeatable processes and procedures engineered upon well-defined principles and frameworks for autonomous decision making.
  • Support the definition, refinement, and execution of business cases, decisioning criteria, and other product governance processes, working in close consultation with business stakeholders, product management peers, and leadership.
  • Promote the effective integration of Product (PDLC) and Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC), through cohesive, comprehensive, and well-orchestrated planning and execution on product delivery and release readiness. (*)
  • Support a product intake process that is well managed, adhering to service level targets and facilitating effective product governance communications to key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Product Team and Development on the planning, creation, maintenance, and communication of a release plans designed to be reliable yet flexible while aligning to the objectives and priorities outlined in product roadmap.
  • Maintain a strong sense of ownership of portfolio project work through effective project management of work products within both PDLC and SDLC phases.
  • Nurture operational and market readiness for new product and release deployments through collaboration in cross-functional partnerships with development, IT, solution delivery, marketing, sales, support, and other key functions at MediQuant.
  • Deliver Portfolio projects that are completed on time, within budget, and meet stated business outcomes. (*)
  • Gather and document business and technical requirements by performing industry methods such as use cases, gap analysis, usability labs, focus groups, and demos.

  • Apply acquired skills and knowledge to address and clarify business end user or technical requirements.

  • Collaborate with Product and Development Teams to ensure Product Portfolio work is properly defined. o Conduct follow-up project scope meetings with product team, internal business and technical stakeholders, and customers to evaluate comprehensive solution scope and participates in evaluating design options. o Partner with Iteration Manager to ensure High-Level Planning estimates are completed and presented to Leadership. o Participate in Development pointing and daily stand-up meetings. o Partner with Iteration Manager on Iteration and Release planning. o Ensure all work is properly prioritized and defined. o Validates work product meets stated business requirements.

  • Provide project support which may include identifying and prioritizing tasks, estimating hours, project quotes, change control processes, labs, focus groups, meetings, resolving problems, reporting, user acceptance testing, production release validation, etc., Manual dexterity: Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.

Frequently must analyze, memorize, problem solve, read and perform simple to complex math.

May frequently move computer equipment (laptop computer) weighing less than 10 lbs.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 40 pounds.

Work Authorization. In compliance with Federal employment laws, MediQuant will verify the identity and employment authorization of each person hired. MediQuant participates in the Federal E-Verify program.

Security Clearance. Must be able to pass all security clearances mandated by various government contracts as well as any client hospital/healthcare security requirements. Any employee working on government projects will be required to successfully pass a government background check and receive a Common Access Card (CAC). Additionally, the applicant must be a U.S. citizen and will be subject to a Public Trust security background investigation and must meet requirements to obtain a Department of Defense (DOD) network account.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

  • Updated certifications as necessary to meet demands and requirements of existing and future work
  • Clinical/EMR or business systems implementation experience in healthcare operations setting
  • Experience with FHIR r4 or HL7 resource definition, development, and testing is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of various clinical departments and clinical datasets
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Above average operational process improvement skills
  • Proven analytical skills
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure or opposition
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations involving PHI and HITECH
  • PC proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, etc.)

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work. This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel. Incumbent is required to travel on a regular basis to meet sales and client relationship expectations.
