Cyber Security Engineer

• Design and implement security controls across cloud and on-prem environments
• Monitor, detect, investigate, and respond to security incidents and threats
• Secure and harden AWS cloud infrastructure, including network configurations and IAM policies
• Build and maintain secure infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using Terraform
• Design, deploy, and secure Kubernetes and containerized environments
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, prioritize risks, and drive remediation efforts
• Implement security controls within CI/CD pipelines to support DevSecOps practices
• Configure and manage security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, vulnerability scanners)
• Perform security audits, enforce policies, and ensure compliance with industry standards
• Continuously evaluate and enhance system security to address evolving threats

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, information security, or related field
• Proven experience securing AWS environments in production settings
• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform or other IaC tools
• Experience deploying and securing Kubernetes and container-based platforms
• Deep understanding of network security, system hardening, and security architecture
• Hands-on experience with SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security solutions
• Strong knowledge of IAM, encryption, and vulnerability management practices
• Experience writing scripts or code (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation and security tasks
• Demonstrated incident detection, response, and remediation experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field
• Industry certifications (CISSP, CISM, CEH, AWS Security Specialty, etc.)
• Experience implementing DevSecOps practices in CI/CD environments
• Hands-on experience supporting compliance frameworks (SOC 2, NIST, ISO 27001, etc.)
• Experience working in multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Knowledge of zero trust architecture and modern security frameworks
• Experience with security orchestration and automation (SOAR tools)

The wage range for this role reflects the wide array of factors considered in compensation decisions. These factors include, but are not limited to, skill sets, experience, training, licensure and certifications, and geographic location. Compensation decisions are based on the unique facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the annual range is $140,000.00 - $144,250.00.

This position may be eligible for a discretionary bonus. It is classified as exempt under applicable law. Additionally, this position aligns with the Voyatek Career Framework as a level 05 individual contributorin a DevOps Engineering position.
