Job description
The SCADA & CORE Systems Engineer is a key member of a 24/7 mission critical operations team responsible for providing the technical support & analytical services with limited supervision for the management, design, specification, configuration, troubleshooting, and support of systems and processes that affect operation of renewable generation control systems., * With limited supervision, configure and manage SCADA alarms, real-time calculations, and other parameters to provide situational awareness to operations, supporting a highly reliable 10 GW generation dispatch 24/7 control center.
- Deploy, configure, and perform maintenance on complex CORE SCADA applications using PcVue.
- Install, configure, test, and maintain CORE SCADA applications such as Automatic Generation Control (AGC), Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR), Biologic Curtailment Systems, SCADA Monitoring Systems, Oracle and SQL Databases.
- Familiarity with GE WindSCADA, Vestas VOB, Suzlon SC Commander, Siemens WPS (Wind Power Supervisor), SGRE WindNetPro, and other generation related SCADA applications.
- Maintain SCADA interface systems relating to NYISO, MISO, ERCOT, WECC, CAISO, PJM, BPA, or other system authorities.
- Configure, test, and maintain protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, OPC, ICCP, TCP/IP and XML.
- SEL RTAC PLC programming with AcSELererator.
- Demonstrated proficiency using AVEVA PI.
- Provide 24/7 on-call support for National Control Center Operations.
- Provide guidance and assist in the development of project plans including capital and operational budgets to deliver optimal asset performance and improve reliability.
- Comply with NERC / CIP procedures.
- 10-20% Travel required.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in computer science, engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3+ years experience managing and configuring communication protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, OPC, ICCP, TCP/IP and XML.
- Ability to qualify to NERC standards including successful 7 year background investigation and security review.
- Proven ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with management, Plant Operations, and technical personnel.
- High energy and ability to work with little direct supervision.
- Self-motivating and have desire to stay abreast of latest systems technologies relating to optimizing generation system performance., * Background in process control and energy management systems, as related to the Wind Energy Business.
- Detailed understanding of NERC / CIP standards.
- 5+ years mission-critical expertise supporting an energy control center.
- 3+ years experience installing SCADA.
- 3+ years experience maintaining Windows Server/Client operating systems.
- 3+ years experience VMWare virtualization.
- 3+ years experience with industrial networking, VLAN's, NAT's, Static Routing, etc

The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $80,000- $97,000
