Job description
The L3 Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for advanced troubleshooting, platform optimization, complex change executions, architectural improvements, and escalation handling across modern hybrid datacenter platforms. This role demands deep expertise in Windows Server, VMware virtualization, Dell VxRail, Azure Local (Azure Stack HCI), and Dell AX nodes., 1. Windows Server & VMWare
- Lead troubleshooting for Hosts and virtual machine OS.
- Perform deep-dive root cause analysis for DC infrastructure issues.
- Oversee patching strategy, OS rolling upgrades, and remediation for failed updates.
- Active Directory/Entra ID expertise for related troubleshooting and new setup.
- Handle escalations for ESXi, vCenter, HA/DRS, vSAN.
- Lead upgrades across major versions.
- Review system logs for advanced fault pattern detection.
- Dell VxRail
- Perform LCM pre-checks, upgrades, node expansions, and cluster remediation.
- Troubleshoot VxRail Manager issues, node discovery failures, and hardware errors.
- Engage with Dell Secure Connect for escalations and log bundle analyses.
- Ensure consistent compliance with VxRail Continuously Validated States (CVS).
- Azure Local / Azure Stack HCI and Dell AX nodes
- Design, deploy, and troubleshoot Azure Local clusters.
- Manage Arc-enabled servers, policy, monitoring, and workload placement.
- Fix cluster witness, Storage Spaces Direct (S2D) and other issues.
- Ensure Azure hybrid services (AKS, Azure Monitor, Defender) run smoothly on-prem.
- Perform node-level diagnostics for AX platforms (firmware, BIOS, iDRAC, disks, NICs).
- Lead hardware replacements and predictive failure analysis.
Cross Platform Responsibilities
- Serve as final escalation point for L1/L2 teams.
- Perform major incident handling and communicate RCA.
- Automate routine tasks using PowerShell, CLI, or Ansible.
- Ensure compliance with security baselines and hardening guides.
- Participate in architecture discussions and roadmap planning.
Requirements
- 7+ years in Windows & virtualization.
- Deep knowledge of:
- Windows Server 2016 2025
- AD / DNS / GPO
- VMware vSphere/vSAN
- VxRail internals
- Azure Stack HCI / Azure Local
- Dell AX hardware
- PowerShell knowledge.
- Hands-on experience with networking (VLANs, LACP, vDS, Switch Independent teaming).
- Familiarity with monitoring suites (SCOM, vROps, Azure Monitor).
Certifications Preferred
- VMware VVF/VCF
- Dell VxRail Appliance Engineer or VxRail Specialist
- Azure Administration
- Windows Server Hybrid Certifications
