Job description

The Winston Center on Technology and Brain Development is seeking a part-time PhD level Data Scientist to assist with the Center's research enterprise. The Winston Center conducts research examining young people's engagement with digital technology, and how this engagement relates to their developing brain, socioemotional health, and psychological functioning. Amongst others, duties include: -Manage, gather, analyze, review and report information for specific research projects. -Develop and perform statistical analysis of fMRI data and assist other researchers with fMRI analyses. -Oversee quality control analyses of fMRI data -Work with faculty on fMRI pipeline and assist with updating pipeline and reporting bugs.

Requirements

Be a Tar Heel!, Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent research productivity, will accept a relevant Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and 3 or more years of relevant experience in substitution. May require terminal degree and licensure. Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience PhD in Psychology, Neuroscience or a related field. At least on year of postdoctoral training working in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related field Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Strong data analytic skills with experience in neuroscience and fMRI data analysis, Exceptional organizational and time management skills, Exceptional data management skills with a high level of attention to detail, Experience supervising trainees, such as undergraduate research assistants, post-baccalaureate staff, and/or graduate students, 1. * Please select the response below that describes your level of education that best or mostly closely satisfies the education requirements for this position.
