Job description
- Lead the design and development, and ongoing evolution of Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models with a focus on usability, clarity, and visual storytelling.
- You will define best practices for Power BI data modeling, including star schema design, DAX optimization, and scalable semantic layers.
- You will promote data visualization design principles, accessibility standards, and UX guidelines across the BI portfolio.
- Architect efficient, reusable, and scalable BI solutions that support growing data volume and evolving business needs.
User Experience & Stakeholder Partnership
- You will partner with business leaders and report consumers to understand analytical needs and decision/operational workflows.
- Translate ambiguous or complex requirements into clear analytical designs and prototypes using Figma or other wireframing tools.
- Lead user testing and feedback cycles to improve report usability and adoption.
- You will be a trusted advisor to partners by identifying insights, gaps, and opportunities for the BI portfolio.
Efficient Data Modeling & Governance
- You will create and improve complex Snowflake SQL queries, ensuring performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Promote documentation of data models, report logic, design decisions, and technical architecture.
- Ensure production BI assets are reliable, well-governed, and support self-service analytics where needed.
Team Enablement & Collaboration
- You will mentor and assist junior team members, providing technical guidance on Power BI, SQL, visualization design, and UX
- You will support skill development across the team through design reviews, knowledge sharing, and recommended learning paths
- Collaborate with data engineering, analytics, and business teams to work together on data definitions, metrics, and delivery timelines, To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria:
- At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.
- Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.
- Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
- Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the requirements for their position/job.
- Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Requirements
We are looking for an experienced and collaborative Business Intelligence Lead to join our CenterWell - Primary Care Organization (PCO) Analytics Team. The Business Intelligence Lead operates with a high level of autonomy, guiding business intelligence products from concept through delivery. The Business Intelligence Lead ensures reporting solutions are efficient, scalable, and aligned with organizational standards and user experience principles. This is an individual contributor role., * 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or a related field.
- Expertise in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, report performance optimization, and enterprise deployment patterns.
- Proficiency in SQL, including complex query development, performance tuning, and working with large datasets (Snowflake preferred).
- Demonstrated experience designing intuitive, user-centered dashboards grounded in data visualization and UX best practices.
- Design scalable and maintainable BI solutions for diverse business audiences.
- Ability to work across groups and influence partners without direct authority.
- Experience problem-solving with the ability to translate business questions into analytical solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Experience mentoring BI or analytics team members.
- Microsoft PL-300 Certification.
- Experience with additional data visualization tools (Tableau, Qlik, SSRS, or similar).
- Proficiency in Python or another object-oriented programming language for analytics or automation.
- Experience building analytics solutions in healthcare or regulated environments.
- Advanced experience with wireframing and prototyping tools such as Figma to support UX-driven analytics design.
Benefits & conditions
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$117,600 - $161,700 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
