Job description

  • Opening for a Cisco Engineer within its Process Control Systems group located in Granite City, IL.
  • This high-profile role combines the challenges of project management and information architecture working within a highly skilled team.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining Software and Hardware of Process Control systems in all areas of the plant.
  • Plant Process Control systems routinely consist of Allen-Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers communicating to real-time applications, models and databases hosted on Open VMS and Windows Servers.
  • Work is done in accordance with Safety and Quality Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Due to the nature of our business, our facilities operate 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, 365 days/year.
  • This is a normally 40 hour/week position, working day shift Monday through Friday with little to no travel.
  • However, after hour support rotation is shared among team members and is required.
  • Therefore, this position may require occasional work on off-hours, weekends and/or holidays.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing production processes and user requirements for system development, Detail design of system specification including hardware and software requirements, Coding, testing and implementation of applications / systems and user training,
  • Supporting the critical production systems in a timely fashion; troubleshooting problems and maximize operating efficiencies with minimal interruption, Project Management: coordinate the design and development efforts of a small project team.

Requirements

  • Intermediate knowledge in Cisco network technology. Proven ability to design, configure, support and troubleshoot OT networks.

Desired Skills:

  • Intermediate knowledge in high-level C#, .NET, and/or FORTRAN programming, SQL Server and/or OpenVMS.

Education:

  • Bachelor Degree or 4 years equivalent experience in Computer or Electrical field.
  • Critical Competencies for Success: Self-motivated yet works well in a team environment. Effective oral & written communications. Logical/analytical thought process.
