Job description

The Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) whose mission is to enhance the fiscal and financial stability, accountability and integrity of the Government of the District of Columbia is in search of an IT Project Manager (IT Project Manager (Enterprise Program)). This position is in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). The incumbent is primarily responsible for managing the project teams and work efforts involving the analysis, planning, design, development, implementation, documentation, assessment, and management of the projects.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing and overseeing multiple IT initiatives
  • Defining the scope, goals and structure needed to deliver technology and process change within an organization through the management of projects
  • Ensuring that the work efforts achieve the outcome specified within the agency's business strategy
  • Identifying, evaluating, tracking, communicating, escalating and mitigating potential risks to project budget, timeline and/or deliverables
  • Coordinating and conducting governance and portfolio management activities associated with ensuring compliance with the enterprise processes and methodologies
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders to develop requirements, design and document solutions
  • Performing other related duties as assigned

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: Five (5) years of progressive experience managing IT projects through the full project life cycle, including COTS and Data Center/Infrastructure projects using Agile or Hybrid Agile methodologies; experience must include leading technical teams in a matrixed environment, managing large-scale IT budgets, and applying SDLC and PMLC methodologies. Agile certification is required; PMP certification is highly desired.
