Job description
- Hardware and Software Setup:
- Lead the setup and configuration of hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
- Oversee the deployment of servers, workstations, and network devices for both on-site buildings and mobile units.
- Network Administration:
- Manage and maintain the organization's network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues, optimize performance, and ensure secure connectivity across all systems.
- Server Management:
- Take ownership of server administration tasks, including user account management, security protocols, and system updates.
- Monitor server performance, ensure system availability, and manage routine and disaster recovery backups.
- Advanced Technical Support:
- Provide expert-level technical support to end-users, diagnosing and resolving complex hardware and software issues.
- Act as the escalation point for critical helpdesk tickets, ensuring timely resolution.
- Security Oversight:
- Implement and manage advanced security measures, including firewalls, antivirus solutions, endpoint protection, and access controls.
- Proactively identify and mitigate vulnerabilities to safeguard the organization's systems and data.
- Documentation:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, network diagrams, IT procedures, and incident response protocols.
- Ensure all documentation is current and accessible for team use and audits.
- Collaboration and Leadership:
- Collaborate with departments to assess IT needs, demonstrating and implementing effective solutions.
- Conduct training sessions and mentor junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and skill development.
- Performance Monitoring and Alerts:
- Oversee system and network performance monitoring, responding promptly to alerts and notifications.
- Proactively identify and address potential performance bottlenecks and security concerns.
- Research and Innovation:
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools and practices to improve IT infrastructure and operations.
- Compliance and Best Practices:
- Ensure IT systems and processes adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements, including data privacy, cybersecurity, and audit compliance.
- Enforce best practices for IT operations, security, and resource management.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Web development?, * Network Design and Administration:
- Expertise in planning, implementing, and optimizing network architectures, including subnetting, VLANs, and routing protocols.
- Cloud Infrastructure (Azure):
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure, including deploying and managing resources such as Azure Virtual Machines (VMs), Azure Active Directory (AAD), and Office 365.
- Proficient in virtual networking, storage management, and securing cloud environments.
- Identity and Access Management:
- In-depth knowledge of Azure Active Directory and Office 365, including user identity management, authentication, and authorization.
- Experience integrating and managing cloud-based identity solutions for enterprise environments.
- System Architecture and Solutions:
- Skilled in implementing and maintaining cloud-based services, virtualization technologies, and IT infrastructure solutions aligned with organizational goals.
- Security Expertise:
- Demonstrated ability to implement robust security protocols, including data encryption, securing network communications, and adhering to industry best practices for compliance and risk management.
- Documentation and Process Management:
- Proficient in creating comprehensive technical documentation, such as network designs, system configurations, and operational procedures.
- Problem-Solving and Technical Troubleshooting:
- Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, optimize performance, and recommend effective solutions.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across departments and teams.
- Software and Application Development:
- Familiarity with software and web development, including experience in programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
- Capability to design, develop, and maintain software applications and web-based solutions tailored to business needs.
- Continuous Learning:
- Commitment to staying updated with emerging technologies and industry advancements.
- Enthusiasm for learning and adopting new tools and methodologies to enhance IT operations.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- The noise level in the work environment is typical of an office and is usually low to moderate but sometimes requires work in a warehouse/shop setting which can be moderate to loud.
- Movements including but not limited to prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching are required.
- Regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; talk; see; and/or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.
- Ability to enter/exit trucks and perform light physical tasks as required.
- Visual acuity to read documents, labels, and shipment information.
- This job may require working evenings, weekends, and outdoors. It may also include travel out of state on occasion.
- Ability to use proper lifting procedures and techniques.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at all times.
