Principal Software Engineer

We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to provide technical leadership and architectural direction for the backend services that support an enterprise digital platform. This role has a direct impact on platform scalability, performance, and long term technical strategy. The Principal Software Engineer will lead solution design, mentor engineering teams, and partner closely with product and technology leadership to deliver high quality solutions on time.

In this role, you will oversee the design and development of backend APIs, guide best practices across the team, and help shape the technology roadmap. You will work across architecture, development, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines while serving as a technical leader and trusted partner to the broader organization., * Lead the design and development of high performance backend APIs using Node based frameworks

• Provide architectural guidance and technical leadership across platform services and integrations
• Partner with product and technology leadership to plan and execute platform roadmaps
• Mentor and coach engineers to support professional growth and delivery excellence
• Establish and enforce best practices for code quality, testing, and documentation
• Support cloud infrastructure decisions and guide teams on scalable deployment strategies
• Analyze and resolve complex technical issues across distributed systems
• Drive continuous improvement across application performance, reliability, and processes

• 7+ years of experience as a software engineer supporting enterprise applications
• Strong experience with backend development using Node, Express.js, Nest.js, or similar frameworks
• Experience designing and building microservices and REST based APIs
• Hands on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
• Experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code tools
• Proficiency with TypeScript and modern software development practices
• Prior experience providing technical leadership and mentoring engineering teams
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
