Job description

Monitor network, servers, internet services, and applications to ensure consistent performance and availability aligned with service level expectations.

Perform first-level diagnosis, remote troubleshooting, and event correlation to resolve issues or escalate when necessary.

Manage service tickets from initiation to closure, document incident impacts, and contribute to regular system status reporting.

Support IT security operations including patching, antivirus remediation, and physical infrastructure checks, while maintaining lifecycle processes.

Execute and manage backup and recovery operations, including scheduling, restoration, and troubleshooting of backup systems.
-
Provision, maintain, and support network infrastructure including analog phone lines, structured cabling systems, and physical network components to ensure reliable connectivity and service continuity.

Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and knowledge base articles to support operational consistency and team learning.

Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues, track temporary workarounds, and support long-term problem resolution efforts.

Continuously develop skills by learning new technologies and operational strategies to improve performance and service delivery.

Maintain awareness of system health through proactive monitoring and contribute to continuous service improvement initiatives.

Participate in an afterhours on-call rotation for upkeep of critical IT services.
Requirements

Foundational knowledge of computer operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), network systems (Cisco IOS, wireless access, structured cabling), and enterprise IT management systems (backup, virtualization, inventory).

Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, etc.), network tools (Wireshark, Fluke), and physical network components.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail and a confident capability to troubleshoot complex problems from discovery to resolution.

Baseline familiarity with scripting tools, especially Microsoft PowerShell.

Ability to analyze technical documentation effectively and work with AI assistant tools responsibly.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting findings and reporting incidents.

Self-motivated with ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, small-team environment.

Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Willingness to learn and grow in a rapidly evolving IT environment.

Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to establish professional rapport with all levels of management, staff, and public.

Availability to work shifts and after hours as needed.

Ability to lift 30 pounds, use basic tools, and use a ladder for overhead work.
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS:
-
Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Relevant certifications include CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Linux+, Cisco CCNA, and Microsoft Azure Fundamentals.

Completion of a training program, such as Cisco Networking Academy or Microsoft Azure Administrator Boot Camp, is a plus.
