Job description
We are looking for a dynamic Systems Engineer to join their team in Sunnyvale, California.
As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:
- Design, implement, and maintain virtualization infrastructure, including VMware vSphere, vCenter, and related technologies
- Provide expert-level Windows administration, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Windows operating systems
- Develop and maintain documentation for virtualization and Windows environments, including configuration guides, troubleshooting procedures, and best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of virtualization and Windows environments with other IT systems and infrastructure
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to virtualization, VMware, and Windows environments
- Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to streamline virtualization and Windows administration tasks
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, best practices, and company policies for virtualization and Windows environments
- Provide training and guidance to junior team members on virtualization, VMware, and Windows administration
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide 24/7 support for critical systems and infrastructure
- Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure using OpenShift and OpenStack, including container orchestration, deployment, and management
- Develop and maintain containerized applications and microservices using Docker, Kubernetes, and other containerization technologies
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud-based applications and services with other IT systems and infrastructure
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, best practices, and company policies for cloud-based environments
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on virtualization, VMware, Windows administration, and cloud technologies
- Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies, including VMware vSphere, vCenter, and related products
- Expert-level knowledge of Windows operating systems, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
- Active DoD Secret security clearance
Desired Skills
- VMware VCP or VCAP certification
- Microsoft MCSA or MCSE certification
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) certification
- OpenShift and OpenStack certifications, such as Red Hat OpenShift Administration or OpenStack Foundation Certified OpenStack Administrator
- Knowledge of containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with automation tools and scripting languages, such as PowerShell, Python, or Perl
- Experience with agile development methodologies and DevOps practices
- Knowledge of IT security frameworks and compliance regulations, such as DCSA
- Experience with cloud-based storage solutions, such as Ceph or Gluster
- Experience with cloud computing platforms, including OpenShift and OpenStack
- Ability to obtain DoD top secret security clearance
Clearance: Secret - Must be willing to upgrade to TS immediately
