Job description
The System Experience Core Services Team creates core software technologies that enable other teams to build new system UI and apps. Our software foundations provide many of the common platform services powering iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS and visionOS. We are responsible for app management, app extension discovery and runtime, and other technologies underlying system UI including as Home Screen, Finder, Dock, Spotlight, and Continuity features. We are seeking a skilled, energetic, proactive, and motivated engineer to enhance our current technologies and help us innovate and develop new ones. Bring passion and dedication to your job and you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with teams across the full software stack and do the best work of your career!, In this role you'll be responsible for improving existing technologies, prototyping new ones, troubleshooting bugs, and optimizing performance. You will also collaborate with our client teams to understand their needs and determine the best approach to support them effectively. As a member of cross-functional feature development teams, you will work with UI designers, app developers, Core OS engineers and security specialists to brainstorm, design, prototype, and implement new features on fast-paced development timelines!
Requirements
4+ years of experience
Understanding of inter-process communication and systems development
Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills
Excellent object-oriented programming and debugging expertise
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with optimization and performance issues across OS software layers
Familiarity with iOS or macOS software technologies and tools
Detailed knowledge of and experience with Swift, Objective-C, or C/C++

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
