Lincoln Financial is seeking a visionary technology executive to lead the transformation of our Retirement Plan Services business. This is a high-impact role for a strategic leader who thrives at the intersection of enterprise technology, innovation, and business growth.
As VP, Head of Technology, you will shape and execute the technology roadmap for a dynamic and evolving business unit. You'll lead a high-performing team of engineers and architects, drive modernization, and partner with senior business leaders to deliver scalable, customer-centric solutions that are highly competitive in today's dynamic world.
What you'll be doing
- Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with Retirement Plan Services leadership to align technology initiatives with business strategy and growth objectives.
- Technology Roadmap Ownership: Architect and implement a multi-year roadmap focused on application rationalization, modernization, innovation leveraging AI, and implementation of sector-specific software solutions.
- Leadership & Team Development: Inspire and guide a team of seasoned engineers and technical leads.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Champion a culture of innovation, leveraging emerging technologies to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Vendor Management: Oversee strategic vendor relationships, ensuring compliance, performance, and alignment with internal policies and regulatory standards.
- Market Awareness: Stay ahead of industry trends and translate insights into actionable strategies for future growth., This position may be subject to Lincoln's Political Contribution Policy. Requirements
- 15+ years of progressive experience in technology and architecture, inclusive of executive level and/or board presentations and detailed business case development
- Proven success leading large-scale transformation initiatives in a service-based environment.
- Deep expertise in retirement, insurance, financial services or related industry, with a strong understanding of regulatory and customer needs.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Nice to Haves:
- Hands-on leadership with large scale transformations of both culture and technology. AWS cloud transformation and AI experience a plus.
- Experience and understanding of efforts needed to migrating away from legacy technologies, including mainframe.

The pay range for this position is $157,000 - $285,600 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln's total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln's standard benefits package.
