Job description
- Build and maintain high-quality, reusable React components for the design system.
- Ensure components meet accessibility standards (WCAG) through testing and validation.
- Develop and manage design tokens and ensure consistent implementation across platforms.
- Collaborate with product designers to translate UI and UX patterns into scalable, production-ready components.
- Partner with engineers and product teams to drive adoption and correct usage of the design system.
- Create and maintain documentation, guidelines, and usage examples.
- Support the engineering community by troubleshooting issues and improving developer experience.
- Contribute to the design system roadmap, including feature development, bug fixes, and enhancements.
- Advocate for best practices in accessibility, performance, and front-end architecture.
- Mentor and support other engineers as a peer leader within the team.
Requirements
We are seeking a Senior Front-End Engineer, Design Systems to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in React, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, accessibility, and design tokens and a proven ability to design and build reusable component libraries and theming systems at scale., * 10+ years of professional software development experience, including 5+ years with React and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Strong expertise in HTML, CSS, and modern front-end development practices.
- Proven experience building reusable components and scalable front-end architectures.
- Solid understanding of web accessibility, including WCAG standards, ARIA, and semantic HTML.
- Experience with component testing, including unit, visual, and accessibility testing.
- Experience with AI-informed design workflows and Figma collaboration.
- Experience building theming libraries and design tokens.
- Clear communication and effective cross-functional collaboration.
Preferred Skills:
- 2+ years on a design systems, component library, or pattern library team.
- Hands-on experience with design tokens, theming systems, and style dictionaries.
- Familiarity with Storybook, Chromatic, and related documentation or testing tools.
- Understanding of CI/CD workflows for front-end packages and monorepos.
- Experience in cross-functional product teams.
