Job description
A Junior DevOps Engineer at our healthcare startup supports the reliability, security, and scalability of the cloud infrastructure that runs production healthcare applications. This role is hands-on and ideal for an engineer with foundational experience in cloud and infrastructure-as-code who wants to grow in a regulated, high-impact environment.
What You'll Do:
- Support and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS
- Use Terraform to provision and manage infrastructure as code
- Assist with CI/CD pipelines for application deployments
- Monitor system performance, availability, alerts, logs, and events
- Help implement security best practices (IAM, least privilege, logging)
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues
- Work closely with engineering and IT teams to support production systems
- Document security controls, infrastructure, runbooks, and operational procedures
Requirements

Minimum 2-3 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud, or Systems Engineering

Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC)

Working knowledge of Terraform

Familiarity with Linux and basic networking concepts

Understanding of CI/CD concepts and Git-based workflows

Strong desire to learn and take ownership

Exposure to containerization (Docker, ECS, or EKS)

Experience with monitoring/logging tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus)

Familiarity with HIPAA, SOC 2, or regulated environments

Scripting experience (Bash, Python)

Exposure to security tooling (AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, WAF)

Experience with CI/CD security or infrastructure scanning, * Aligned with SimpliFed's mission.
