Job description

Job Summary: The Android Developer II will be responsible for a variety of duties in support of the Company's Virtual OneStop (VOS) mobile software solution. The Android Developer II will work closely with other team members in an Agile environment who have responsibility for prompt and timely delivery of new development, maintenance incidents, configuration tasks, setup tasks, responding to customer questions, data change requests, and other duties as assigned by the Team Lead., * Performs most work independently under minimal supervision.

  • Maintain Android mobile applications.
  • Develop new modules for current Android mobile applications.
  • Develop Android applications using Android Studio and other Technologies.
  • Troubleshoot and debug development and production issues.
  • Perform tests to find system/software defects.
  • Follow design specs.
  • Apply best practices.
  • Read specifications and design software solutions.
  • Interface with subject matter experts to gather requirements.
  • Release updates/new content to App Store with supervision from Team Lead.
  • Other duties as assigned by Team Lead.

Requirements

Note: All New hires will travel to GSI's headquarters in Palm Harbor, Florida for a week of new hire orientation.

THIS IS CURRENTLY A HYBRID POSITION. CANDIDATE MUST WILLING TO WORK AT THE CORPORATE OFFICE IN PALM HARBOR, FL. MINIMUM OF 2 DAYS A WEEK.

MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH .NET MAUI, * Proven, real world work experience in Android Studio.

  • Must have experience with .NET Maui
  • Experience with performance and memory tuning tools.
  • Experience writing and debugging Android applications.
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as GIT.
  • Proficient understanding of GIT code management through tools such as Bitbucket.
  • Experience with Custom Libs
  • Experience with WCF/REST Services and Web API
  • Experience with Google Play submitting and releasing mobile applications.
  • 3-5 years of experience designing and developing Android native applications

Additional Work Experience / Knowledge that is a plus:

  • Experience making network requests to a RESTful API and parsing/modeling a JSON response
  • Experience using MAUI, Xamarin, Dagger, AssertJ, JSON, Mockito, RxJava, RxAndroid, Robolectric, Espresso, Junit, Firebase / Google Analytics, Google Play Store
  • Knowledge and experience using reactive programming, Android material design, and dependency injection
  • GIT, Bitbucket, JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo, Artifactory
  • Knowledge of TDD
  • Experience working on a team in an Agile environment

Qualifications / Certifications:

  • A Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience is required.
  • A Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Information Systems is a plus.
