Job description

As an Application Engineer on our Inside Sales team, you'll be the technical voice that helps customers, distributors, and OEM partners select the right pump for the job. You'll learn our full product portfolio of lobe, gear, AODD, and twin-screw pumps across food & beverage, pharma, personal care, and protein processing. You'll size pumps, build quotes, solve problems, and work shoulder-to-shoulder with our Sales, Engineering, and Operations teams.

This is a developmental role designed to build deep technical expertise in hygienic fluid handling. Most of our Application Engineers grow into senior technical roles within the team. We're equally excited to hear from candidates who see this as a stepping stone toward an Outside Sales or Territory Manager role down the road.

What you will do

  • Size and select the right pump and accessories (pumps, valves, strainers, sight glasses, bubble traps, spare parts) for customer applications across our four core markets
  • Prepare technical quotes and proposals for OEMs, distributors, and end users
  • Troubleshoot operational and product issues alongside customers and the Sales team
  • Identify competitive products and their Unibloc equivalents; support cross-sell and upsell opportunities
  • Read and interpret pump performance curves, engineering drawings, and P&ID schematics
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Engineering to build and deliver product training
  • Travel 10-20% for customer visits and industry trade shows

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering required; Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience (co-op and internship experience counts)
  • Mechanical aptitude and genuine curiosity about how things work
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
  • Attention to detail and a sense of urgency around customer needs
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office / 365
  • Ability to work on-site at our Kennesaw, GA headquarters

Nice to Have

  • Prior exposure to rotary, positive-displacement, or diaphragm pumps
  • Experience with an ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central a plus)
  • Familiarity with sanitary standards (3-A, EHEDG, FDA 21 CFR)
  • Previous internship or co-op in manufacturing, industrial equipment, or technical sales, * Engineering: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Sales: 1 year (Preferred)
