Job description

We are seeking a motivated System Integration & Test (SI&T) Engineer to join our Wireless R&D Wireless Research team in San Diego. As a member of the System Integration & Test Team, you will be responsible for building cutting-edge end-to-end prototype systems for wireless technologies such as 6G, 5G NR Sub6 & mmW, and applying AI/ML techniques. These prototype systems focus on proof of concept and key feature development in 6G.

The candidate will contribute to key research and development topics in mobile wireless, working with world-class engineering teams to shape the future of wireless communication. More specifically, SI&T team members interact closely with systems engineers, software/hardware developers, and RF engineers to test and evaluate the end-to-end prototypes. This includes defining test objectives, writing test plans, executing tests, troubleshooting, and performing detailed post-processing analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in testing, enjoy working in a lab environment, drive testing (Over the Air testing), be proactive, and have a hands-on approach to work assignments.

Requirements

Candidates must have a great interest in new technologies and a willingness to learn. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required, and candidates must be able to work well with others in a technical environment. Some travel for tradeshows and demos may be required., Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field., * Knowledge of 5G NR PHY, MAC, RLC, PDCP, RRC protocols.

  • Knowledge of OFDMA, Wi-Fi and LTE.
  • Good understanding of Digital and Wireless communication systems.
  • Experience with test equipment such as Channel emulators, Spectrum analyzers and Signal generators.
  • Programming skills in Python/MATLAB.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML concepts (Deep learning, LLM transformer architecture) is a plus.
