Job description
Under general supervision, analyzes and interprets data, develops reports and dashboards, and provides systems support to assist City departments with operational and strategic decision-making. Ensures the accuracy, integrity, security, and governance of City data while communicating findings to business users., * The selection process will begin with a screening of the application/resume - The best qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the assessment process. - Oral Board Interview - (Weighted 100%):
- Pre-Employment Screening -Selected candidates for this position are subject to a pre-employment screening which includes but is not limited to local & state criminal history check; federal criminal history checks via submission of fingerprints; and drug screening. *IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Background check processing may take 2 to 3 months to complete.

Requirements
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and analytical professional with a strong foundation in data analysis, reporting, and visualization. They are proficient in tools such as SQL, Python, and Power BI or Tableau, and have experience transforming complex data into clear, actionable insights. This individual thrives in a collaborative environment, communicates effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and is committed to maintaining data integrity, security, and governance standards while supporting strategic decision-making across the organization., * Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, or a closely related field.
- Two (2) years of responsible work experience in data analytics projects within varied business environments, including supervisory or project management roles if applicable.
- Equivalency: Six (6) years of responsible work experience in data analytics, including analytical services provision in diverse business settings. The City assesses one (1) year of work experience as equivalent to one (1) year of education.
- Previous experience working in the public sector or with government data is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
- Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or a similar certification is preferred.
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a valid Nevada state driver's license with a satisfactory motor vehicle record.
- NCIC (National Crime Information Center) Certification is required within six (6) months of hire or reclassification.
- Incumbents in positions that require possession of valid licensing/certification as a condition of employment must obtain and maintain such credentials within the established time periods, and throughout the course of employment. Failure to obtain or maintain required licenses or certifications in good standing may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination
Benefits & conditions
- Pay Considerations -The starting salary for the position is $72,903.49. Starting salary is dependent on education, qualifications, and experience. The selected candidate for this position will start at the beginning of the salary range, no exceptions.
- Work Schedule - This position is scheduled to work 4 days per week, 9 hours per day, (36-hour work week) Monday through Thursday, 8:00am to 6:00pm.
