Systems Engineer

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience or Master's degree with 6+ years of experience, additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.\n
• Active DoD Secret clearance.\n
• Expert knowledge of networking protocols, routing, and switching technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs).\n
• Expert knowledge of enterprise network design principles and networking technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.\n
• Strong knowledge of three-layer spine/leaf architecture.\n
• Strong knowledge of protocols, security standards, and design principles for OSI Layers 1-4.\n
• Experience with installation and configuration of physical networking equipment and Local Area Networks (LANs).\n
• Experience with the design and deployment of Wide Area Networks (WANs) using Virtual Private Networking (VPN) technologies.\n
• Experience in interpreting and contextualizing network management and troubleshooting tools and technologies, such as ICMP, SNMPv3, and Syslog.\n
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.\n
• Ability to build and maintain relationships, partnerships and external networks.\n
• Ability to work independently, and work effectively in a collaborative team environment while keeping the team informed.\n

n \nPrimary Responsibilities:\n \n \n

• Develop detailed network designs and architectures that align with Department of Defense (DoD) standards.\n
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot network appliances (routers, switches, and firewalls).\n
• Collaborate with procurement teams to identify and source network hardware and software that meet project specifications.\n
• Conduct thorough testing of network systems to ensure functionality, performance, and security compliance.\n
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during installation and testing phases.\n
• Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, installations, and changes.\n
• Develop and update network diagrams and other relevant technical documents.\n
• Work closely with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.\n
• Provide technical support and guidance to team members and end-users.\n
• Stay updated on DoD policies and best practices related to network security and design.\n
• Implement security measures to protect network infrastructure and data.\n
• Document and enforce network hardware standards and configuration.\n
• Manage and maintain IP addressing schema.\n
• Provide transparent and regular status updates in requested format.\n
