Job description

The Amazon Lists team within the Core Shopping org builds experiences that help customers seamlessly save inspiration they discover on or off Amazon, evaluate, share, and purchase them. Our vision is to create the most intelligent, easy-to-use, and personalized lists experience in the world that supports both shopping and non-shopping use cases. We own the Amazon Lists CX (e.g., Wishlist) that hundreds of millions of customers world wide use and love. The Lists team consists of multiple 2-pizza teams consisting of Engineers, Product Managers, and User Experience designers. We also partner closely with several teams, including Alexa teams so that customers get a seamless list-building experience whether they are on an Alexa device, Mobile shopping app, or desktop., We are looking for a Principal Technical Program manager (Individual contributor role) to lead the delivery of a new S-Team goal, which aims to build a completely new CX that revolutionizes how customers save their inspiration - whether it is an item they want to purchase later or something else to complete a task. This role will have significant influence on the strategy and execution of this new initiative, and will work with partner teams across Shopping, Alexa, and other orgs to execute. You will work closely with product, engineering, and UX leaders to deliver a PR-worthy launch as part of the S-Team goal, and build a roll-out plan to iterate and get customer feedback quickly to influence the product direction. You will work very closely with other technical leaders to launch AI / Agentic capabilities that make it easier for customers to organize their saved inspiration, and take relevant actions. You will also have the opportunity to influence the broader Lists roadmap, including contributing to 3 Year Planning, OP1, etc., and have very strong technical acumen to unblock engineering teams.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead the overall delivery of high-visibility initiatives (e.g., S-Team goal) to radically improve the saving experience for customers
  • Partner closely with engineering team, product management, and UX design teams to ensure we're building the best customer experience.
  • Serve as the key tech point of contact (POC) for partner teams contributing to your goals, such as Alexa, and within the Shopping org. This includes managing stakeholder relationships and owning crisp written and verbal executive-level communications.
  • Establish and improve processes for managing complex, cross-functional programs and coordinating product demo and release schedules.
  • Escalating risks/issues on a timely basis to senior leaders, and owning their resolution. This includes unblocking engineers as needed, and coordinate with partner teams.

Requirements

7+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
  • High level of customer empathy, and experience delivering notable customer-facing experiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
