Job description

We are seeking a Cloud Software Engineer to support cloud-based software development and data transport systems within a federal cloud program. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-native applications within Azure environments while supporting Kubernetes-based platforms and distributed system operations across IL4-IL6 environments. The ideal candidate will have experience working in DevSecOps environments, supporting secure software delivery, containerized workloads, and cloud-native application development, with a focus on automation, compliance, and mission-critical system performance., * Design, develop, and maintain software for cloud-based systems and applications within Azure environments

  • Support development and enhancement of cloud-native applications and services aligned to data transport operations
  • Build, deploy, and support Kubernetes platforms across IL4, IL5, and IL6 environments, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
  • Contribute to DevSecOps practices through implementation of CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and automated software delivery
  • Utilize GitOps tools and frameworks including CI/CD pipelines, Helm, Zarf, and Apache NiFi to support application deployment and data transport workflows
  • Support workload migrations to cloud environments, ensuring performance, scalability, and security requirements are met
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code and automation scripts to support secure, repeatable deployments
  • Implement and support STIG hardening scripts and secure configuration practices across cloud and application environments
  • Support system integration, testing, and validation activities across distributed cloud platforms
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software, system, and performance issues within cloud and containerized environments
  • Assist in ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance of cloud-based applications and services
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and cybersecurity teams to integrate security controls into DevSecOps pipelines
  • Provide mentorship and support to junior engineers while assisting with compliance and audit readiness activities
  • Contribute to technical documentation, system design artifacts, and operational procedures supporting cloud and DevSecOps environments

Requirements

Secret Clearance Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field Minimum 2+ years of experience in software development or cloud engineering Experience developing applications in cloud environments (Azure preferred; AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or OCI acceptable) Experience working with Kubernetes platforms and containerized workloads Familiarity with DevSecOps concepts, CI/CD pipelines, and GitOps methodologies, * Active Secret security clearance

  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in software development or cloud engineering
  • Experience developing applications in cloud environments (Azure preferred; AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or OCI acceptable)
  • Experience working with Kubernetes platforms and containerized workloads
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps concepts, CI/CD pipelines, and GitOps methodologies
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle and cloud system operations
  • Experience with secure development practices and application security

Certifications

  • DoD 8570 / 8140 compliant certification (IAT Level II required or obtainable within 6 months)
  • Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • One or more additional cloud certifications required within 6 months of hire, * Experience supporting Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) development and operations
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools
  • Familiarity with Apache NiFi or similar data transport technologies
  • Experience supporting IL4-IL6 or classified cloud environments
  • Experience with .NET development, including ASP.NET MVC and Visual Studio-based web applications
  • Experience supporting federal or defense programs, including Cloud One or Platform One environments
  • Understanding of cloud security practices, STIG compliance, and vulnerability remediation
