Job description
The Application Analyst I-Pharmacy working as a member of the Pharmacy IS application team, the application analyst I will support the implementation of UHS Pharmacy and Pharmacy Related applications in a Multi-Entity, 25 plus Acute Care Hospital environment. In order to assist with data integration activities across systems and application, the analyst will focus on learning and understanding the People, Process, and Technology used within the acute and ambulatory service locations. The analyst will monitor the resolution of maintenance or enhancement issues assigned by the UHS Customer Support Cerner. The analyst will implement modifications to existing systems or applications that will effectively accomplish desired objectives. In addition, the analyst will provide assistance in conversion activities including end user support, application troubleshooting and configuration. The analyst will be expected to meet deadlines and ensure continued progress toward assignment completion while sharing their experiences with other members of the team., * Associate's degree plus 1-3 years of experience required.

Understand and develop build experience including, but not limited to the following:

Pharmacy Formulary: Stacking, Flexing, Virtual View, IV Sets, Compounds

Batch Reports: Downtime MAR, Stop Order Reports

Fill Batches: Creating and resetting fill batches

Med Stations: How to set up med stations and advance dispense routing
Front end application experience
Learns and adheres to UHS FIPS Change Control and Integration process
Learns and adheres to UHS Service Level Policies
Researches and resolves Customer Support Center Tickets including major application upgrades
Provides on-call support as scheduled
Participates in bi-weekly EDT Meetings and Rx/CPOE meetings
Establishes and maintains regular communications with user community
Regularly meets with supervisor and team to develop/modify system specifications
Supports the implementations of applications and prepares the appropriate documentation and education materials
Performs or assists in system and unit testing
Performs Q/A on application functionality
Researches and resolves implementation-related Customer Support Center Tickets
Ensures strict adherence to work plans, reporting all serious deviations to management
Maintains Service Excellence principles
Prepares and submits status reports to supervisor as required
Becomes familiar with UHS Policies and Procedures
Participates with status report updates to Project Management
Keeps management well informed of activities, needs, problems
Performs other tasks as required by management
Learns new applications and business operations
Keeps up-to-date on relevant Pharmacy System Version Changes, Bug-Fix, and release notes
Actively participates in increasing education of the Pharmacy System functionality and looks for ways to optimize the system through Webinars, User Group meetings, List Serve, and vendor classes, etc.
Requirements
- One or more years of progressively more responsible Information Systems experience with Pharmacy Systems, preferably Cerner.
- Basic knowledge of system application implementation, enhancement and support methods and practices.
- Basic knowledge of Pharmacy and related computer systems such as Med Distribution and Order Management Systems (i.e. Pyxis), analysis and programming techniques and procedures, including: consulting with users to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications; design, development, documentation, analysis, creation, testing, coding, debugging, or modification of computer systems or programs based on and related to user design specifications.
