Job description
Genesis10 is currently seeking a Fraud Analyst - Hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC, Plano, TX and Pennington, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.
This is an opportunity to learn and grow professionally in detecting and preventing digital fraud. The role requires a hybrid schedule with a minimum of 3 days per week onsite. The role will initially involve performing daily quality assurance, metrics, and reporting functions. As experience is gained, the role will transition to be more involved in daily fraud event analysis, including understanding and assessing the impact of new technical bank policies and fraud events. This resource will need to understand or have the desire to learn technical architecture and application design to aid in researching alerts.
Requirements:
- Perform QA of daily fraud alerts to ensure consistency with documented procedures
- Create Daily, Weekly and Monthly reports reflecting alert volume and quality assurance results
- Investigate abnormal behavior for threats or system abuse
- Identify emerging threats and fraud patterns
- Recommend potential application solutions to prevent abuse
- Stay up to date on trending malware and major security vulnerabilities
- Communicate scope and impact of identified issues
Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and process management skills
- Proficiency in data analytics, data aggregation tools and large data sets
- Ability to extract data using a variety of tools and methods (SQL)
- Ability to analyze data and identify elements to detect anomalous behavior
- Knowledgeable in common application security vulnerabilities
Desired skills:
- Previous experience utilizing Splunk is highly desired (skills in Splunk query language, data ingestion, and data analysis techniques)
- Experience in either web application development or web application security
- Familiarity with fraudster techniques and signatures of malware
- Experience with common programming and scripting languages
- Technical experience with defensive tools for actioning threat intelligence including tools like SIEM, EDR, Big Data Platforms, etc
