Software Engineering Manager

The Planet Group has partnered with a Shreveport, Louisiana company to locate a Software Development Manager who will lead and grow their internal development team while driving modernization across enterprise systems, including their ERP platform.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys building teams, shaping technical direction, and working closely with business leaders to deliver impactful solutions. The role is onsite five days a week, and relocation assistance is available for candidates outside of the Shreveport Area.

As this is a full-time role, we can only accept candidates who can work on a w2 without sponsorship.

• Own the full development lifecycle, from planning and design through deployment and ongoing support
• Partner with IT, business leaders, and stakeholders to align technical solutions with company strategy
• Oversee the design and delivery of scalable, secure, and reliable enterprise applications
• Establish best practices for code quality, testing, and DevOps processes
• Track key performance metrics related to system reliability, delivery timelines, and user satisfaction
• Manage priorities, resolve escalations, and ensure a strong internal customer experience
• Research and introduce modern technologies to continuously improve systems and workflows
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 8+ years of professional software development experience in enterprise environments
• 3+ years of experience managing and mentoring software development teams
• Proven success delivering large-scale business applications used by internal and/or external users
• Strong experience with Microsoft technologies such as C#/.NET, SQL Server, SSRS, and Azure DevOps/TFS
• Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum or Kanban)
• Background supporting or integrating with ERP systems (IFS strongly preferred, but not required)
• Ability to balance technical decision-making with business priorities and delivery timelines
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with IFS ERP or other enterprise ERP platforms
• Exposure to cloud-based SaaS environments
• Manufacturing or industrial systems experience
• Background working closely with Finance, Operations, or Supply Chain teams
