Job description

ITEC is seeking a talented Cyber Security Engineer candidate to engineer and configure Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) based systems while conducting cyber security tasks focused on supporting customer Risk Management Framework (RMF) process. The Cyber Security Engineer will support security engineering and federal security compliance activities during the operations and maintenance of highly visible system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 4+ years of relevant engineering experience or in lieu of degree or 12 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Hands-on administration experience on RHEL O/S system relating to servers and workstations.
  • Experience working with cyber security engineering projects and programs for U.S. Government clients.
  • Demonstrated technical experience in cyber security.
  • Strong understanding of security design and architecture.
  • Practical experience verification of hardening IT systems in compliance with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
  • Hands-on technical experience as an individual contributor with documentation skills and experience in some of the following areas:
  • Linux system administration.
  • Network component administration.
  • VMware administration.
  • Vulnerability scanning tools.
  • Operating system hardening.
  • Experience with implementing the Risk Management Framework.
  • Existing DoD 8570.01-compliant security certification is required at start (e.g. Security+CE, CASP, SSCP, CISSP, etc.; CISSP preferred).
  • The successful candidate is expected to have proven experience with assisting in the implementation of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Application Security and Development Security Technical Implementation Guide (ASD STIG), and experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process and artifact development leading to a successful Authorization to Operate (ATO).
