Job description
A well-established organization in Houston is seeking a Senior Azure Platform Administrator to take ownership of their Microsoft Azure tenant and drive their cloud infrastructure forward. In this role, you will lead the design, administration, and optimization of Azure and Office 365 environments while serving as a technical anchor for development teams navigating cloud migrations. You will collaborate across engineering and security functions to strengthen the organization's cybersecurity posture, ensure cost and performance efficiency, and mentor teammates on cloud best practices. This is a high-impact position for a seasoned cloud professional who thrives in environments where their expertise directly shapes infrastructure strategy., * Lead the end-to-end administration and optimization of the Microsoft Azure tenant, including SaaS services, resource governance, and cost management to maximize cloud performance and efficiency.
- Manage and maintain Entra AD Connect, overseeing identity synchronization and hybrid identity configurations across the enterprise environment.
- Administer Windows Enterprise environments and virtualization infrastructure, ensuring high availability, reliability, and alignment with organizational standards.
- Partner with development and engineering teams to architect and execute cloud migration initiatives, transitioning on-premises solutions to scalable Azure-based platforms.
- Apply and enforce cybersecurity frameworks - including NIST, CIS, and ISO 27001 - to evaluate risk, harden cloud configurations, and support compliance requirements.
- Evaluate emerging Azure technologies and provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, elevating the organization's overall cloud capabilities.
Requirements
- 7 or more years of hands-on experience administering Microsoft Azure and Office 365 services in enterprise-scale environments, with demonstrated depth across core IaaS and PaaS capabilities.
- Proven experience managing Entra AD Connect, including hybrid identity architectures and directory synchronization troubleshooting.
- Solid background managing Windows Enterprise Environments, including server infrastructure, group policy, and enterprise-grade system administration.
- Experience administering virtualization environments, with the ability to manage and optimize virtual machine workloads at scale.
- Familiarity with industry security frameworks such as NIST, CIS Controls, or ISO 27001, with practical experience applying them to cloud infrastructure.
- AZ-104 (Azure Administrator) or AZ-305 (Azure Solutions Architect) certification is a strong plus and may be considered in place of a portion of required experience; Nutanix expertise is also advantageous.
