Job description
The Oncology Data Specialist - Certified (ODS-C) is responsible for performing all functions associated with the maintenance of the Harris Health System Cancer Registry; case finding, abstracting, follow-up, participating with registry quality assurance functions, and tumor boards.
Requirements
Degrees/Work Experience: Associate's degree with completion of the Cancer Data Management program via an approved program by the National Cancer Registrar Association (NCRA) (And) One (1) Year Work Experience as a Oncology Data Specialist - Certified (ODS-C) (Preferred)

High School Diploma with completion of the Cancer Data Management program via an approved program by the National Cancer Registrar Association (NCRA) (And) Two (2) Years Work Experience as a Oncology Data Specialist - Certified (ODS-C)
Licenses& Certifications: Oncology Data Specialist - Certified (ODS-C)
Communication Skills: Exceptional Verbal (e.g., Public Speaking), Writing /Correspondence, Writing /Reports
Proficiencies: Personal Computer, Excel

Work Schedule: Eligible for Telecommute
Equipment Operated:Basic Desktop Computer knowledge; Proficiency with cancer registry software Elekta/Metriq preferred.
Other Requirement: Basic analytical skills necessary in order to determine completeness and interpret medical information on diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for up to 80% of work time when abstracting.
