Job description
The Head of Information Technology is a newly elevated role with full strategic and operational ownership of the company's technology function. You will report directly to the CEO, sit alongside operational and commercial leaders, and serve as the single point of accountability for systems, data, infrastructure, and digital transformation.
This is not a caretaker role. This is a builder's role.
What You'll Own
- Develop and steward a multi-year technology roadmap aligned to growth goals, operational scale, and customer mission requirements.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement technologies that drive efficiency, automation, data integrity, and competitive differentiation.
- Own systems architecture decisions with an eye toward scalability, integration readiness, and cybersecurity resilience.
- Lead optimization, integration, and continuous improvement across core platforms - ERP, CRM, ecommerce, warehouse management, and analytics.
- Oversee custom application development, API architecture, and workflow automation initiatives.
- Identify capability gaps and introduce solutions that increase operational throughput and reduce friction across the business.
- Manage day-to-day IT operations including infrastructure, network reliability, vendor relationships, and employee support.
- Ensure enterprise-grade IT support responsiveness across hardware, applications, access management, and security.
- Own maintenance, upgrade cycles, licensing strategy, and technical documentation standards.
- mplement and maintain cybersecurity standards appropriate for a defense-adjacent enterprise operating in regulated environments.
- Ensure compliance with DFARS, CMMC, and applicable frameworks - with proactive readiness, not reactive remediation.
Requirements
The ideal candidate brings executive-level technology leadership experience (ideally 7 to 10+ years) with meaningful exposure to distribution, government contracting, defense supply chain, or comparably complex operational environments. You know what good looks like when it comes to ERP systems, data workflows, cloud infrastructure, and process automation. You've managed cybersecurity posture in environments where compliance is not optional.
Beyond the technical credentials, we're looking for a leader who can navigate organizational complexity, earn trust across functions, and communicate with equal fluency to engineers and C-suite executives. You are as comfortable in a server room as you are in a boardroom.
You bring hands-on instincts to a strategic mandate. You don't just set direction. You build the capability to execute it.
