Join CGI Federal as a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) focused on hands-on technology implementation. You'll work directly with customers to rapidly deploy, configure, customize, and integrate modern solutions, often involving AI/automation, into real operational environments. This is a client-facing engineering role for builders who can translate ambiguous needs into working software, iterate quickly with end users, and drive solutions from prototype to production with strong engineering discipline.
You'll collaborate across various delivery teams while embedded with customers, helping ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned to mission outcomes., * Integrate Foundry with external systems via APIs/connectors; support ingestion, modeling, and governance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and translate them into technical designs.
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and monitor performance and data quality.
- Participate in code reviews; document solutions and follow best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3-8+ years delivering software solutions in customer or production environments (implementation, consulting, SRE/DevOps, platform engineering, or full-stack development).
- Strong coding ability in one or more of: Python, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript (React), SQL; ability to learn new stacks quickly.
- Experience integrating systems via REST APIs, eventing/messaging, and working with structured/unstructured data sources.
- Hands-on experience deploying and operating applications: environments, configuration, troubleshooting, performance, and reliability.
- Strong customer-facing communication skills: can run technical discovery sessions, explain tradeoffs, and drive alignment across stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in ambiguous situations and deliver iteratively.
Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:
- AI implementation experience: LLM integrations, RAG patterns, vector search, prompt/tool orchestration, model evaluation, and safety/guardrails.
- Microsoft ecosystem experience: Azure, Power Platform (Power Apps/Automate/BI), Dataverse, Microsoft Fabric, or Microsoft 365 integrations.
- Cloud & platform experience: containers, microservices, CI/CD, IaC (Terraform/Bicep), observability (logging/metrics/tracing).
- Familiarity with federal/security expectations (e.g., Zero Trust concepts, RBAC, audit logging, secure SDLC).
- Certifications: Azure Developer, Azure Solutions Architect, Security-related certs (a plus)., * Application Development

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $89,600.00 - $218,200.00.
