Job description
The Database Management SME delivers advanced hands-on administration and operational support for database platforms in public cloud environments, ensuring performance, security, automation adherence, and SLA compliance., * Perform hands-on administration of SQL Server and Oracle databases across AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI.

Execute database backup, restore, patching, and upgrade operations.

Monitor and tune database performance using cloud-native monitoring tools.

Perform 24x7 system monitoring of database engines, storage, logs, and replication.

Implement and maintain:

Backup schedules and recovery workflows

Replication and high availability configurations
Support database lifecycle management, including:
- Provisioning and decommissioning
- Data archiving and purging
- Backup retention policies
Apply and support Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) standards using:
- Terraform
- Cloud-native deployment templates
Enforce database security policies, including:
- Encryption at rest and in transit
- IAM-based access controls
- Audit logging and SIEM integration
Conduct performance tuning activities:
- Query optimization
- Index maintenance
- I/O and memory optimization
Perform database refreshes, exports, imports, and environment cloning.
Maintain OEM schemas, database objects, and storage allocations.
Identify databases containing restricted or sensitive data and support reporting.
Participate in on-call rotation, incident response, and root cause analysis.
Maintain operational documentation and contribute to continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 6-10 years database administration experience
- 3+ years managing DBaaS in public cloud environments
- 2+ years in a senior DBA role, supporting operations 24/7, * 6+ years database administration experience

Benefits & conditions
Where required by law, NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting pay range for this role will depend on the nature of the role offered and will either be $87,900 to $110,000 . Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate's relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications.
This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance. If the position offered in temporary, the position will not be eligible for incentive compensation.
