Job description
- Strategic Advising & Solution Architecture: Serve as a trusted advisor to C-level executives and IT decision-makers, guiding them in deploying emerging technologies that drive business value. Lead infrastructure solution architecture and design via comprehensive requirements workshops.
- Hands-on Implementation: Ultimate responsibility to execute overall solution architecture. This includes both managing other implementation resources as well as owning hands-on execution tasks to ensure your vision is successfully delivered.
- Delivery & Governance: Review project direction, identify and mitigate risks, and lead Technical Architecture and Governance for enterprise-level customer engagements. Architect, implement, and support enterprise-grade, secure, and highly available infrastructure powering complex business solutions.
- Thought Leadership & Best Practices: Scale technical best practices globally by developing and evangelizing reusable assets, reference architectures, tutorials, and methodologies. Work closely with product teams to identify feature gaps and guide product direction. Manage customer expectations and negotiate solutions to complex problems.
Requirements
- Clearance: Active Top Secret/Sensitive Confidential Information (TS/SCI) clearance (U.S. citizenship required; contingent upon acceptable background investigation)
- Work Location: Chantilly, VA
- Experience: 15+ years in enterprise infrastructure architecture, with 8+ years of hands-on experience in Linux (scripting, system administration, performance tuning) and Cloud Computing/traditional data center technologies. 2-4 years of leading and managing people as a Technical Lead
- Technical Skills:
- Demonstrated expertise and track record of architecting, implementing, and supporting Enterprise-grade (highly available, scalable, high performance & secure) infrastructure powering complex business solutions
- Extensive Linux Expertise (8+ years): Proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues across various distributions, ensuring optimal system performance, stability, and security as well as site reliability engineering, and performance tuning.
- Extensive practical experience with managed Kubernetes offerings such as GKE, EKS, and AKS and a working knowledge of the Kubernetes ecosystem and tooling (e.g. Helm, Docker, Istio, etc.)
- 8+ years of hands-on experience with Cloud Computing, including infrastructure, virtualization, containerization, networking, storage, platform; or experience with traditional enterprise data-center technologies, including virtualization, RDBMS, storage appliances and private networks
- Proficiency in at least two of the following: Bash, Go, Python, Ruby, node.js, Rust, Java.
- Exceptional hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, consistently demonstrating the ability to diagnose complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner. This includes a proven track record in meticulously analyzing system failures, collaborating with cross-functional teams to devise innovative workarounds, and developing long-term preventative measures to enhance operational efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Comprehensive understanding and application of security best practices, including data encryption, access control, secure coding, network security, vulnerability management, incident response, and compliance. Proactively identifies risks, implements prevention, and responds to incidents effectively.
- Experience building and managing IT Infrastructure architecture and operations teams and processes.
- Knowledge of operating in high security Government cloud environments. Knowledge of controls in IL5 and IL6 environments.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional customer-facing communication, active listening, and presentation skills; proven ability to analyze business processes and translate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences., * Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Multi-cloud proficiency (AWS, Azure, GCP) and experience with load balancing products (AWS ELB/ALB/NLB, F5, Nginx, HAproxy)
- Solid understanding of DevOps principles and experience with tools such as Git, Ansible, Terraform, and Jenkins for CI/CD pipelines
- Appropriate certifications: CKA, CISSP, CISM, or Security+ (DoD 8570)
- Experience with cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, FISMA, HIPAA, SOX), enterprise software security compliance, and cyber tools (vulnerability management, STIG/baselining)
- Proficiency in AI tools, agentic AI, AI ethics, and a practical understanding of SDLC, Microservices, Service Mesh, and Serverless architectures
- Hands-on integration development experience with MuleSoft or other solutions (e.g., IBM, BEA, Oracle Fusion, TIBCO, Dell Boomi, Progress Sonic, Apigee).
