Job description

California ReLeaf is seeking a full-time Education and Communications Program Manager for immediate hire who is dedicated to supporting grassroots efforts to protect and enhance California's urban and community forests. This exciting role offers the opportunity to join a mission-driven organization and work with an amazing team as well as a large network of local urban forest nonprofits who are making a significant environmental impact on communities across California!, The Program Manager oversees all aspects of California ReLeaf's Education & Communications programs including branding and design, communications strategies and campaigns, electronic and printed communications, and publications for a variety of audiences., California ReLeaf's office is in Midtown Sacramento, and our team works a hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote work (M/F). This position may work up to 40 hours per week.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be committed to sharing ideas, resources, and skills while greening all communities and helping build a stronger ReLeaf Network. The candidate will also be adept in a wide variety of skills: effective leadership, interpersonal and team building, excellent organizational skills as well as a superior ability to multi-task, while meeting deadlines with a creative and flexible problem-solving approach., * Bachelor's degree and/or work experience in communications, community organizing, marketing, nonprofit program management, or related fields.

  • Excellent communication skills: listening, coaching, public speaking, and writing.

  • Creative and engaging social media and content marketing skills.

  • Proven project management skills: planning, prioritizing, and organizing.

  • Ability to oversee development of educational events - workshops, conferences, and webinars.

  • Effective leadership, interpersonal, and team building skills.

  • Outstandingly organized, responsible, and persistent.

  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills across an array of programs and tools including Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, Google Docs, Canva.

Nice-to-haves

  • Spanish bilingual preferred.
  • Understanding of nonprofit, mission-based organizations.
  • Knowledge of arboriculture, horticulture, and/or natural resources helpful.
  • Committed to authentic community engagement and ReLeaf's mission.

Benefits & conditions

The salary for this position is $55,000 - $75,000 annually. Excellent benefits including health care, dental and vision care coverage, monthly contribution to employee retirement account, paid holidays, vacation and sick leave.

Insurance

Medical Plans - California ReLeaf offers a choice of medical plans through CalNonprofits, to include and not limited to Kaiser and Sutter Health Plans. Employees working 20 hours or more per week are eligible for pro-rated medical, vision, and dental benefits. California ReLeaf covers a portion of eligible employee's health care premiums up to $650.00 per month.

Retirement

California ReLeaf employees may enroll in the SIMPLE IRA program, which is a retirement savings plan. California ReLeaf will match employee contributions up to 3% of the employee's compensation for the year.
