Job description
Ensure HealthEquity's database platforms are reliable, secure, and scalable to support business growth and peak demands.
- Reduce operational risk by establishing strong standards, clear ownership, and disciplined execution across database operations.
- Enable modernization by leading database upgrades, migrations, security initiatives, and resilience improvements that support longterm platform strategy.
- Own research and planning for growth, fault tolerance, load balancing, disaster recovery, and other critical database needs.
What you'll be doing
- Lead and manage the DBA function, setting priorities, expectations, and accountability for production database operations.
- Own database reliability, performance, capacity planning, high availability, disaster recovery, security, and compliance.
- Establish and enforce enterprise standards for database administration, documentation, and change management.
- Partner with Systems, Platform, Security, and Architecture teams on database infrastructure design and implementation.
- Drive execution of strategic initiatives including upgrades, migrations, and technology adoption.
- Mentor and develop DBAs through technical reviews, training, and onboarding.
Requirements
- Proven production expertise supporting missioncritical Oracle and/or SQL Server environments, with a strong foundation in performance, availability, security, and operational excellence.
- Deep expertise in production database operations, performance tuning, capacity planning, and resilience.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to set direction, remove blockers, and hold teams accountable.
- Experience defining standards and driving consistent execution across complex, regulated environments.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to partner effectively across technical and business teams.

This is a remote position. Salary Range $120500.00 To $157000.00 / year Benefits & Perks
The actual compensation offer is determined based on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, and work location. Onboarding & Travel
This is a remote role, with an in-person onboarding training component. New team members must participate in Trailhead, HealthEquity's immersive onboarding experience Trailhead is designed to foster meaningful connections, support your integration into the organization, and equip you with a strong understanding of our business. Trailhead participation is a key expectation of this role. Trailhead is held onsite at our headquarters once per quarter. HealthEquity covers all required travel and accommodations.
This role may begin with a virtual, self-paced onboarding experience, followed by a mandatory onsite Trailhead session at a later date.
