Bachelors degree and 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer with a focus on enterprise networking; four (4) years of experience in lieu of degree. Hands-on SSR expertise, including session failover configurations and performance optimization in high-availability systems. Proficiency with state replication for firewalls, load balancers, and routers. Experience with HSRP, VRRP, SSO (Cisco), or other redundancy protocols. Advanced understanding of networking protocols and technologies: DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VPN, and NAT/PAT. In-depth experience configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless solutions from leading vendors (Cisco, Juniper, F5, Palo Alto, or similar). Expertise with Ansible for automation and orchestration, including: Writing custom playbooks and roles. Automating configuration management and deployment processes for network devices. Preferred Skills: Knowledge of load balancing technologies (e.g., F5 BIG-IP, Citrix ADC) and features like session persistence. Strong understanding of network security protocols and controls (e.g., SSL, VPN, firewalls). Familiarity with SD-WAN and Network Function Virtualization (NFV). Certifications (preferred, but not required): Cisco certifications: CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE. Automation-focused credentials: Cisco DevNet Associate/Professional, Red Hat Ansible certifications. Security certifications: CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent. EDUCATION Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.
