Job description
Peraton is seeking a highly motivated Database Engineer IV to partner with stakeholders and collaborate with mission owners to build efficient, reliable, and scalable database solutions. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background in database engineering, data visualization, and programming tools to develop and support mission-aligned initiatives., Build, manage, and optimize robust database systems to support high-priority mission needs.
- Design and maintain data pipelines for large-scale data ingestion and analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve database performance and schema design.
- Leverage Apache, Hadoop, SAS, and Tableau in data analytics and engineering efforts.
- Maintain and enhance databases for real-time analytics and visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Kibana, PowerBI, and Grafana.
- Develop tools and applications with programming languages like Python, R, C++, and SQL.
- Ensure data integrity, compliance, and adherence to Peraton policies and standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an area relevant to the position with 8+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree in an area relevant to the position with 6+ years of relevant experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Active TS/SCI or SCI eligibility and active polygraph or ability to obtain a polygraph
- Security+ or other IAT II/III level certification that is currently active (DoD 8570 compliance)
- Experience with database management and analytics platforms, including SQL and cloud platforms.
- Advanced programming knowledge and expertise in tools like Apache and Hadoop.
- Proficiency with visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or Kibana.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience working in government contracting, especially in database development for federal agencies.
- Familiarity with NRO data management or Authorization to Operate Processes (ATO).

Target Salary Range
